The El Monte Community Center housed the administrative offices for the Parks, Recreation, and Transportation components for the City of El Monte. There are meeting rooms, and small and large auditoriums available for citizens and civic groups on a rental basis. Call (626) 580-2200 for rates and information.

    Arceo Park

Arceo Park is a 3.4 acre park with the following amenities: Covered picnic shelter, two play areas with playground equipment, wading pool (open during summer months only), community band shell with adjacent picnicking facilities and recreation office with public restroom.

Fletcher Park is a 2.9 acre park with the following amenities: Covered picnic shelter, scattered picnic tables, outdoor lighted basketball court, playground equipment area and recreation office with public restrooms.

    Pioneer Park

Pioneer Park is a 10.89 acre park with the following features: Lighted Little League baseball diamond (ages 8 to 12 years old), lighted pony-colt baseball diamond (ages 13 to 18 years old), playground equipment area, public restrooms, scattered picnic tables and a log cabin type meeting facility available for rent.

Rio Vista Park is a 1.5 acre park with the following features: Playground equipment area, scattered picnic tables and recreation office with public restrooms. Rio Vista Park is a park/school site utilizing Rio Vista Elementary School’s athletic courts and open space.

Baldwin Mini Park is a ½ acre park with the following amenities: Outdoor basketball court, small play area with playground equipment, large covered picnic shelter with seating capacity for up to 100 individuals, small park office and public restrooms.

    Lambert Park

Lambert Park is a park/school site of 9.3 acres which is adjacent to Frank Wright Elementary School that utilizes the park’s outdoor sports facilities for recreational purposes with the following amenities: Large community building with auditorium, meeting rooms and kitchen facilities. Indoor gymnasium with one full basketball court, four ½ size basketball courts, two portable volleyball courts, lighted Little League field (ages 9 to 12 years old), unlighted Tiny League baseball field (ages 6 to 8 years old), covered picnic shelter seating up to 60 individuals, scattered picnic tables throughout the park.     Mountain View Park

Mountain View Park is a 10.11 acre park with the following amenities: Community Center type building with auditorium, full service kitchen facilities and meeting rooms available for public and community group use. Large play area with play equipment and recreation office with public restrooms. Covered picnic shelters, wading pool, scattered picnic tables throughout the park. Two lighted outdoor basketball courts, lighted softball diamond, lighted Little League baseball field.

    Zamora Park

Zamora Park is a 5.17 acre park with the following amenities: Community Center type building with auditorium, small kitchen and meeting rooms. Park office with public restrooms. Covered picnic shelter, scattered picnic tables, wadding pool, playground equipment area. The El Monte Youth Development Center, a non-profit organization, is located at Zamora Park which enhances the social and educational opportunities of the youth in the area.

    Santa Fe Trail Historical Park

The Santa Fe Trail Historical Park is situated on a one area park. The park had been designated by the State of California as a Historical Landmark #975 in 1989. The park was built in 1989 depicting the historical significance of El Monte being the end of the Santa Fe Trail that started in the state of Missouri. The special features of this park include the Osmond House, a typical 1800’s house, the original El Monte Jail, a Connastoga wagon and the Official California State Historical Marker which are all built around a center plaza fountain.

    Afterschool Recreation Programs:

Organized Recreation Programs are offered at selected parks and school sites throughout the city. These after school programs are designed to give your children an enriching, educational, and recreational experience. Participants will be given an opportunity to choose from a wide range of activities. Activities include organized sports, games, arts & crafts, homework assistance, trips and special events.     Pee Wee Cheerleaders:

The El Monte Community Services Department has an outstanding Pee Wee Cheerleading Program . This wonderful program is offered at Fletcher, Lambert, Mt. View and Zamora Parks and is open to 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade girls. The girls have a terrific time making friends, being involved in community events, participating in parades, cheer clinics, slumber parties, field trips, performing at city wide events and competing in the Annual Pee Wee Cheer Jamboree. Parents are involved in candy fundraisers, spaghetti dinner, cheer boutique at the Holiday House, bake sales, picture day and various other activities.     Junior (5th/6th Grades)/Youth (7th/8th Grades) Sports Clubs:

The Sports Clubs are 4 week programs designed to introduce participants to an organized practice and tournament game setting. Practice times are assigned based on program age group. The registration fee for the Sports Club is $5.00 which includes transportation, administration fees and award.
