The City of El Monte wishes you a safe and happy holiday. In an effort to keep our community safe during the holiday, we have launched the “You Light it, We Write It” 4th of July fireworks campaign. The campaign is a community-wide effort to end the use of illegal fireworks in the City of El Monte and celebrate responsibly with “Safe and Sane” fireworks. “Safe and Sane” fireworks are those that do not fly or explode.
During the next few days, the El Monte Police Department will have 41 patrol units working on fireworks enforcement. A $1,000 fine will be imposed for possession or use of all illegal fireworks. We are asking for your help to ensure that only “Safe and Sane” fireworks are used in the City of El Monte this Fourth of July. Illegal fireworks are dangerous to our community and very harmful to our pets. Please enjoy the Fourth of July holiday in a safe and responsible manner with respect for your neighbors.
