[ARCHIVED] Invasive Mosquitoes, How to Avoid Bites

Aedes Mosquitoes

Have you noticed more mosquito bites this year?

The San Gabriel Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District (SGVMVCD) says the mosquito threats continue to grow with the invasive, black and white mosquitoes Aedes.  Further, SGVMVCD says the aggressive daytime mosquitoes are uniquely adapted to city environments and pose danger because of the viruses they transmit. Aedes mosquitos may increase the outbreak of Zika, dengue fever, yellow fever and chikungunya viruses.

To reduce the risk of attracting Aedes mosquitoes, the SGVMVCD says to apply Tip 'n Toss. First, tip out any stagnant water and second, toss out unused containers.

Watch this SGVMVCD video to see how Tip 'n Toss works.
